Jared Bergeron - Independent Team Beachbody Coach

It was January 13th 2009. My doctor called me back in to talk about my physical. A chat and another couple tests later and I was officially a type 2 diabetic. My A1C reading was closing in on 7.0 and I was 246 pounds. After some shock and a quick trip to "depression-ville" I started seeking out information on "my new friend." I attended a "welcome to diabetes" class and went to the Portland diabetes expo.I remember looking around, waiting in line to go in...1/4th of them were in a chair or using a cane, some blind, most overweight. The man next to me mumbled "first time?" I nodded, he mentioned he just lost his sister to diabetes and he had it as well. Got me thinking, this wasn't just about me...I had a wife and four children that depend on me...that moment I decided to beat this thing. Not knowing where to start, haven't been in a gym in almost 20 years, only knowing I needed to sweat and loose weight AND FAST, I turned to a dusty copy of P90X that had been living in a box in my garage since I got it from a buddy. I came to love to sweat...and how I felt after...

Fast forward to August 2011... My A1C test came back 5.2 (well inside the "non-diabetic" range, I no longer take any medication, and my weight... 184, mostly solid, not to bad for a 6'2" guy. I feel like I am just getting started. I developed a passion for fitness and love to share this passion with others. This made the decision to become a Beachbody coach a easy and natural one. If you want to talk, let me know, want to workout even better! I can look my children in the eyes knowing I am doing everything I can to ensure I am there for them, and I love any chance to share that feeling with others!
